Leslie Fremar has had a very exciting year so far. The celebrity stylist was the mastermind behind Julianne Moore and Reese Witherspoon‘s awards season dresses, and now she’s partnered with Gap Factory to share some of her A-list dressing tips with you.

“It’s an aesthetic that I adopt in my personal life,” Fremar told PEOPLE of collaborating with the brand for its Exclusively Styled 2015 marketing campaign. “I happen to be a quite casual person, and I think even when you see my work and my styling it’s never that eclectic. It’s very clean and modern and simple.”
Starting in May, Fremar will showcase a curated collection of outfits for men, women and children, which she styles herself as well as her tips and top product picks. The campaign will include summer, fall and holiday.
“The clothes are really impressive,” she said of the new summer shipment. “We shot the first set of pictures, and it was really beautiful. The pieces are fun, simple and clean. It’s been enjoyable.”

And while you probably already have a pair of boyfriend jeans in your closet, it’s time to get on the boyfriend shorts trend, according to Fremar. (We’re so ready to get behind any shorts after this winter.) Other pieces to get excited about? Fresh graphic tees (“You can definitely dress them up for work with a skirt and a blazer.”) and relaxed-fit, white linen pants.
“The Gap Factory customer is a little different than the Gap customer,” she shared. “They have introduced a lot more color and prints. It’s still within the Gap family aesthetic, but there is something really beautiful and lively about it. It’s very feminine, beautiful and a little bit flirtier. They make great clothes for women, men children. It’s a family shopping experience.”

While we were on the phone with Fremar, we also had to ask all about Julianne Moore’s Chanel Oscars moment, which took a long time to come together.
“It’s interesting, because usually the actor doesn’t want to talk about it because you never know if it’s [the Oscar nomination] going to happen,” she said. “But when the momentum started I said to Julianne, ‘There is so much work, I need to move forward. I need to start the process.’ So I met with Chanel in September. It was slow, but we started the conversation.”
Fremar revealed that she did 55 looks for the Still Alice star during the duration of awards season. And her Oscars dress was definitely an exciting finale.
“I think the intentions were always to create something that was elegant, beautiful and timeless,” she said. “We wanted to created something that she wasn’t going to look back on and say, ‘What was I thinking,’ or something that was a trend of the moment. We wanted it to feel beautiful forever. I feel we definitely accomplished that.”
Chanel Creative Director Karl Lagerfeld was very involved in the couture creation which took 987 hours to make and featured 80,000 hand-painted sequins. But because of scheduling conflicts, he wasn’t at any of Moore’s four fittings.
“From the first fitting, she loved the dress,” Fremar said. “By the final fitting we looked in the mirror and were like, ‘Whoa.’ I cried. She didn’t cry, but I had a moment. It was pretty special, especially when the client is your friend.”
Fremar also dressed Best Actress nominee and long-time client Reese Witherspoon in a waist-defining Tom Ford gown, another star to make our Best Dressed list.
